|
|
Hi, newbie here - hope I've posted in the right area!
I have a Volvo with a Sensus nav system. To download POIs I'm told I need GPX format, but these are not listed as possible downloads.
Can you tell me the procedure please?
Thanks, John |

Hi John and welcome to PGPSW forum.
Just for clarification and so that any knowledgeable gives the right answers, are you referring to the PGPSW camera database or the free POIs? |

Thanks for replying - it's the POIs I'd like to transfer to the car's Satnav.
Also, just been reading the car manual and there's mention of "stored locations" and "points of interest" ... what's the difference?

On my funny Renault TomTom thingy, Stored locations are ones which I've stored/saved myself - in TomTom PND terms that would be My Favourites and Points of Interest are POIs - say a database you have from somewhere else (or may have created yourself).
I suppose the main difference is how quickly you can call them up to navigate to, e.g. two pokes at the thing get you to Stored Locations, where you select the location to go to, whereas three pokes get you to POIs, Type of POI, where you select the POI to go to.
I could be wrong, I'm not the brightest lamp on the ceiling. _________________ Dennis

Ok, I manged to download CSV files and found a converter to change them to GPX format.
When I loaded them onto the Volvo's satnav they went into "stored locations" which, as Dennis says, seems to the equivalent to "Favoutites".
Is there anyway to get them to go into "POIs" ?
Thanks, John |
