Just a couple of quickies please:
I can't help but think that many of the TP locations are somewhat unsuitable as they cannot be legally parked in at night unless lights are left on. I wonder if there would be any benefit for drivers if they could discern between a normal lay-by and one that has the median that allows overnight parking without lights?
Secondly, I have been searching for the diningpubs.co.uk website and it no longer appears to be live. If that's the case would it make sense to have that logo to depict 'other food pubs', while the black mug could be for 'non-food pubs'.
Just a thought as I work my way around my area tidying POI's I am familiar with.

I wonder where the Truck Parking POIs originally came from? Often they are somebody's personal list, combined with some sort of official listings gleaned from somewhere.
Do you know of any other sources that might distinguish between the two types of stop you mention?
As for the pubs..... I used to have the "Dining pubs" as a separate POI list, on my satnavs, but eventually I realised that their list was just an individual organisation's recommendations and missed out a lot of perfectly good pubs that did food. The same was true for chains like Wetherspoons
After that I have always used POIEdit to combine the "pubs", "dining pubs" and "Wetherspoons" (plus any others I found) together.
And I used the dining pubs icon 'cos I thought it looked nicest!
So far, if I like the look of a pub from outside, then they probably do food anyway these days! So there might not be any need to have them separate? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

Presumably you are referring to Truck Layby POIs when using the phrase Truck Parking. The original intent was to indicate where a large vehicle could safely pull off the road. It was never intended to indicate a site that was secure parking for lorries.
It was unfortunate that TP was used in the icon.
As to DiningPubs (a now defunct category as is Focus, MFI, etc), these are in the process of being tidied up, but it is a slow, manual, task. At that time we could, perhaps, use the colourful icon for the pubs category. _________________ Richard
