I`m trying for the 5th time to download my map update but it keeps failing with no error message after about 10 minutes. I have 564MB free of 7.02GB on the device and 7.21GB free of 7.4GB on my Micro SD card. Trying again |

Having trouble downloading too - gets partway then comes up with a server error and I've done the software updates. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

Mine downloaded OK. Always a bit of a gamble doing it the minute the map is released as the servers get a hammering. Worth waiting a few days IMO. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

just downloaded the map and now copying to my sat nav.
It's put 379 meg on my sd card. So not the map but maybe additional files instead.

Happy to say map update finally went through without errors. Just under an hour from the last try. |

Even although i chose in the map update options to download only to Device after checking it has added 9.97GB into C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Map\Map_Map.EU.2015.40\RMU\EU. This is split between Additions folder 2.7Gb and the IMG folder 7.21Gb. Is it safe to delete these as i don`t think i have any use for them as i don`t use Basecamp as i use TYRE. _________________ Nuvi 2599LTM-D |

Yes, the process is to download to PC first then build the mapset and install it ... either to the device, your PC for Basecamp to use or both. You can safely delete those files.
They would only be used again if, for example, you wanted to reinstall the maps to your device ... _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thank You. I did open Basecamp to see if it found them but it didn`t all it can find is CN Europe 2015.30 which is on a USB drive. I just cant get it to discover the new update files. _________________ Nuvi 2599LTM-D |

It won't as you didn't choose the Basecamp option. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

After several attempts the Satnav does not display a map, Basecamp does not show the new map and there is a message on the Garmin EXpress in a red box saying
"Sorry, we're having a problem with communicating with our servers." |

Eventually succeeded - a very quick response at the Garmin support centre to resolve the final issues -
however
If you omit to request download to Computer and Satnav and only download to the SatNav, you cannot re-download to the computer or computer and Satnav, so I have blown having an updated map on the computer until the next version of the maps. |

Just create a cloned device and use that. You can then select the download to PC option. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
