Express has just been updated to v4.0 and given a new look. If you would like to upgrade to the latest version, Check for Application Updates on the Settings page within the Express application.
Changes Include:
• A new home screen lets you view all your devices in one place. Select a device from the home screen to view a device's dashboard.
• Garmin Express leads you through updates and other tasks with a step-by-step process, with clear status notifications along the way.
• Each device dashboard offers relevant menu options, based on device type (automotive, fitness, etc.), making it easy to find what you need.
Note that this update is not compatible with Win XP, or earlier mac OS versions. It won't allow you to update, and the Express web page has links to a legacy version for those that need it. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Can I play the OCD card then?
As it happens as soon as it updated it told me my 2597 needed a software update so I obliged. Needed charging anyway as that one lives in the cupboard. _________________ DashCam:

And yet another update - this time to 4.0.6. Hopefully ready for the 2015.40 maps and a fix to the server issue for voices. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

I run Windows 7, 64bit.
Garmin Nuvi 3598LMT-D and Nuvi 1690
Tried to update Express using the usual update option in Express v3.2.29.0.
Got a box saying my system is not compatible and gave me the option to download MapUpdater.
Any thoughts?

I'm running Win7 64 bit (home premium) and it installed OK.
I suppose try again and if that fails uninstall GE and download and install it clean. It's certainly compatible. _________________ DashCam:

Thanks, would have tried that if all else failed..
I went to Garmin website [Garmin.com/express] and downloaded Express from there.
The download link on the Express page downloads the old version - the link 'System Requirement' opens another small window listing the requirements and the download link there downloads the new version.
This time it worked!
