Hi there, I've been trying to installed TomTom UK 1.4 .apk on an Android navigational system. I already have the TomTom on my iPhone which correct me if I'm wrong but is the best sat nav at least for in the UK for all that it offers. Now having installed this Android navigation system in my car I assumed TomTom via Google Play would install on the device so I would no longer have to use my phone, unfortunately google play does not recognise my system as a compatible device.
I've been doing a lot of searching on this and have found many other Android 'PHONE' users have also encountered the same issue with once TomTom being installed getting the 'unable to connect to TomTom, try again later'. But i've also read a lot of these same people with the error message being able eventually get TomTom working after a few adjustments maybe to the 'metadata.xml' or changing folder names. I've tried so many method over the weekend but none as been successful, I still get the same unable to connect message.
Has anyone here had a similar issue and if so have you managed to get TomTom working on your Android device successfully?

If you have legitimate access to the Android apk (installation) file you could side load it onto the device but unfortunately it will probably receive authorisation through PLAY and without it will likely fail. Try side loading the PLAY store apk and see if that works? _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

Yeah the apk file was from a different source not from Play. What do you mean by side loading ? |

Okay from a Google search I think I see what you meant. I have tried to install several different APK files, they install fine but once the programme runs on ever occasion the first thing it need to do is connect to Tomtom and this is what it doesn't do. |
