Garmin Nuvi 3598 route planning

I do like Garmin but I'll tell it how I see it from posts .....

I've now seen quite a few threads about the 3598 giving issues but none about the 25xx series having any issues.

My 2599 is rock solid as is a 2508 I know of. Maybe bite the bullet and get a 25xx or is there a feature(s) on the 3xxx series that you must have?

The 3598 also seems to have a separate aerial from the power cable which is old hat now, my 2599 and my previous 2597, from a couple of years ago, both have the latest TAxx combined power/aerial.

Hi John

Right, my unit for instance will not take me around the M25 from my part of Essex to uxbridge where my son is at Uni. It wants to have me go via A406 which is a no no. I have to force it to go M25 with the use of a 'via'. so create your route, go back to main screen, tap the map symbol and zoom out then back in till you find the road of the route you would prefer and tap on the road. It will name that road and offer you to ok it and it will ask you to add to original route which I do. you can create a few if it still wants to try and get back to the original route. Have a play about with it john is the best bet.

I have just done a mock on my 3598 to make sure I had everything in order and it worked. I chose the M25 about half way through the journey that I needed to take.

I agree missing out the North Circ, horrendous road.

I often feel I'm in a parallel universe. Where exactly are your start and end points? My 2508 routes me around the M25 to Uxbridge from Essex without issue.

John - you don't even need to go back to main menu. You can ad via's straight after you have chose your preferred route from that map. Only just found this out. Embarassed
