I cannot find instructions on how to load the new icons to my Nuvi 40 along with the PGSW Cameras whose csv names are not identical to the bespoke icons which I thought they had to be.
Could someone point me to them?
Thanks |

As long as you have the icons you want, then you will need to rename them manually to match the csv / gpx filenames.
Here is my 2599 with 24x24 sized icons:

Therein lies my confusion.
1. take pocketgps_uk_mobile.csv
2. there are 8 mobile .bmp files pocketgps_uk_mobile_20.bmp files from 20-70 mph
3. do I rename them all to pocketgps_uk_mobile.bmp !!!!!! if not which one?
4. Or do I name the bmps with the .csv file content e.g NW-MOBILE:5607@70 and all the points of the compass!!!!!!
Thanks |

Correct
You need, in your case 7 different CSV, WAV and BMP files. They are all available from here though.
The BMP's come with the CSV's in the normal download and you can get the icons as well.
At the end of the day you need a triple for all the camera types you intend to use. _________________ DashCam:

My confusion was due to the fact that I am using the 'consolidated' camera set not the 'zoned' one. All is now clear.
Thanks

You seem to be trying to associate the speed zoned .BMPs with the Consolidated by type data. Well, that's my guess from your file name description. |

I was wondering who Gandalf was, but realise now. Your edit of your post before mine makes it look like I was telling you something you already knew. But from your latest post. You did.

I recently replaced the 44x44 icons on my TomTom 1005 (speed zoned, standard set) with the speed zoned large numerals set - like this:
All of the files are sitting on my TomTom (or so MyDrive leads me to believe).
For belt and braces purposes, I deleted all ov2, bmp and ogg files from the device and uploaded the new files to make sure that there were no issues in getting the new 44x44 icons to overwrite the old ones.
The strange thing is that only some of the new 44x44 icons display in the top left of the screen. I haven't tested this exhaustively by driving past every single type of speed camera with every single speed limit, but observation so far leads me to believe that the mobile and pmobile icons don't display (I just see what I assume is the 24x24 icons scaled up). The same is true for the gatsos, except that I can see the correct icons for the variable and 60mph limit cameras.
I'm confused, chaps - I could quite understand/believe it if none of the 44x44 icons displayed, but for a small subset of them to display is just ... odd.
Assuming that I can believe MyDrive, the right files are on the satnav. What is going wrong? |

Which model of TomTom?
TT screwed up how they deal with POI icons in several different ways. I did a lot of research at the time because the transparent backgrounds for icons stopped working and then realised they had messed up some aspects of the sizing too.
Unfortunately, I can't remember all the details (particularly how it affected how the icons were displayed top left of the screen).

Andy, it's a 1005, all updated with the latest s/w and maps etc. I'd like to get the clearer, larger icons displaying properly, they look nice and the information is much clearer. My next step is to try renaming one of the icons that does display correctly and copy+rename it to display as one of the icons that doesn't display correctly, if you get my meaning. This way I'll get to understand if it's an icon problem or a TomTom problem:
pocketgps_uk_gatso_var_X2.bmp - displays correctly
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30_X2.bmp - doesn't display
Copy file pocketgps_uk_gatso_var_X2.bmp and rename to pocketgps_uk_gatso_30_X2.bmp.
If the renamed file displays correctly, then it's likely to be a file issue. If it doesn't, then the issue is likely to be with the TOMTOM s/w itself. |

Look nice on the website but come out as solid red squares on my TT One, any ideas? |

Are the OV2 and BMP Files identically named? And are the BMP Files in the same Folder as the OV2 Files?
The Red Square usually indicates that the software can't find an associated icon. _________________ Richard
