hi all, i am a sat nav dummie, i can work it ok but besides adding camera database i haven't done poi's can some one tell me how to download poi's and add on to nuvi 2597 and how to find out if working please.
remember it has to be explained like the dummies book collection thanks its much appreciated |

1) You'll need Garmin's POILoader

hi thanks for reply one is voice directions and others are off poi they are a few in categories just ticked ones wanted in each section hope this makes sense thanks |

While you may need POI loader it depends what the files are. If they are already .gpi files they should simply be placed in the POI folder on your nuvi.
Otherwise as Kremmen says you'll need POI Loader http://www.garmin.com/us/maps/poiloader _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

thanks i have downloaded of this sites poi database it says csv files for garmin i then extracted them all into file on desktop and then used poi loader to load them it does say successful . i assume once on they know what to do, thanks for help will try when go out shortly |

For the CSV camera files from here you will need to get the SOX.Exe to activate the sound warnings.
If you search here using sox you will find references and instructions to the correct version to download and where to download it to.
It all sounds daunting but once setup it's a breeze from then on.
Also, have a look at the CSV to GPX converters as they offer more control over how Garmin handles the camera warnings. _________________ DashCam:
