Bought the 1005 Camping and caravan version in April this year and registered the unit. At the time had lots of issues registering it as I already had an account for my TT Classic, but the system refuse to allow me to register the new TT for some reason.
Eventually did the registration and assumed that the Lifetime Map Update was automatic as no paperwork in the box about this and info on it was very sparse or I was looking in the wrong place.
Found out today by accident about it but now too late to register for the free Lifetime Map update. Seems that TT liked to keep it a secret until too late to register. I wonder how many other folk have been caught out? _________________ Home is where I park it! |

Thanks. Phoned them and with this unit the map update is automatically updated. Also got an email to confirm. Whew! _________________ Home is where I park it! |

Without appearing to hi-jack your thread.
I have a TT 1005 EU that I have been very happy with for the past 2 plus years.
As the "New improved" Tom toms do not allow the use of Users POI's I am thing of buying a spare TT 1005 EU C&C for the day when mine dies.
Can you confirm that the TT 1005 C&C allows PGPS and user POI's to be installed, Reason for TT 1005 C&C is that 1005 is becoming difficult to find at a sensible price.
TIA

We purchased a 16GB memory card and downloaded all our POIs onto it with out a problem. We now have all the CC POIs on board. Just a pity that the CC could not be bothered with updating their POI list which is now nearly 2 years out of date. _________________ Home is where I park it! |

Thanks Surfer01
The TT 1005 C&C must be the only current TT that allows User POI's.
TT, what are you playing at ? get your act together.

Sorry but you are merely a customer, they won't listen to you nor anyone of us who has already asked the same question |
