The problem seems to have been sorted out by map v937, released today (25 Sept). _________________ Anita

I think I might miss the way it was pronouncing places. I was especially fond of
Boyboymingham
And
Cara Deef
There are many more but these are the best so far. |

Surely Boyboymingham is pretty close to the local accent? |

I have just tried to install the 9.37 update (GO Live 1005) - it is 200MB :smileysurprised: larger than 9.35 and MyDrive says there is not enough room, and I must either delete something or load a subset map. Never happened before
Are others managing to download this map? I can't see anything to delete that would free up enough space (POIs dont even come close, probably no more than a couple of MB)
How can a bugfix be so huge?. Guess I can go with zone 4 (assuming I don't want to go to Italy through Germany). |

- just spoken to TomTom only to be told that my GO 1005 doesn't have enough memory for the latest map update and isn't upgradable as I have an early model without the SD card slot.
Their solution is to install a smaller map zone, although there isn't a suitable one for me as I often travel to Europe - specifically down to Italy via Germany!
I'm more than a little annoyed now as I only recently renewed my map subscription and did consider then buying a new device that included free map updates and live services for life. Wish I had done that now!
I've requested that TomTom find a solution - perhaps a new map zone that includes all of western Europe and the UK, but excluding eastern Europe or Scandinavia. Alternatively they can refund me for the unused portion of my map subscription. I'm not going to hold my breath!

It's odd that "Western Europe", which is available as a standalone subscription, is not offered as a subset of the Whole of Europe sub
Can't help wondering how much life there is in this old TT (also an early one) anyway. Battery only lasts c15 minutes, but it's ok plugged in. Map sub expires in about 2 months, but Live Services has 7 months to go. Maybe I'll just have to write that off.... |
