Yes, buuuut, you need a TTS voice for 2.4. The TTS voices for 2.2 and earlier won't work on 2.4. They generate an 'Invalid voice' (or something like that) error message. suggest you Google around (and if you find one, let me know please) |

Hi M8TJT. I am still struggling with tts announcements. I am now using igo primo 2 winc6. I have loaded tts v5 v1 172646 english uk into the voice file. It shows up in the list of voices but when I try to activate it nothing happens and the tts pro is still greyed out. Do I need a voice engine or what to get the street announcements its doing my head in. lofty |

You say you are NOW using primo 2. Is this different than what you said before? i.e. Primo 2.4?.
Have you got the tts_nua-v5 FOLDER with its contents in the same folder as the primo exe file and Content folder etc are in? |

Hi M8TJT I am now using my old system 2 as the only tts voices I could download were for 2. I downloaded tts v5 v1172646 serena uk english. unzipped the file and put the voices into voice file with no result. By what I think you are saying I should have added the zip file to primo, is this correct? thanks again for your patience. lofty |

Hi Lofty.
The file in the CONTENT\VOICE folder should look like this "Voice_TTS-nua-eng-uk-f1-lua-dri40-vssq5f22.zip"
As I said before, you also need the tts_nua_v5 folder and its contents in the same folder as the CONTENT folder and the PRIMO V2.0.exe and SYS.txt and Branding.zip files are in
You should have at least the following in the Primo folder
folders
CONTENT
LICENCE
tts_nua_v5
files
Branding.zip
Data.zip
Primo v2.0.exe (or whatever)
SYS.txt
vautov5.dll
This does work with 2.0, but not 2.4 as it needs different TTS files/folders.
You have to have the three things to get the TTS to work
The correct voice zip file in VOICES
The tts_nua_v5 Folder
vautov.dll |

M8JTT you are a wizard it worked like a dream on 2. Now if I opt to use 2 instead of 2.4 can I transfer my 2013 maps from 2.4 to 2? or find tts folders to work with 2.4 I note what you said previously if you find some to let you know so it don't look good although I will trawl the net in the hope of finding the correct tts folders for 2.4. Thanks again for your help and advice. lofty |

Yes. Just copy the maps from the 2.0 content\map folder to same folder in the 2.4 installation. Or the other way round. The maps will be read properly by all recent iGO versions. I assume that you have got your stuff safely backed up on your computer!

Then I'm pleased that you have got a result (that surprises me) and that I was able to help. |
