I was introduced to this novel mounting solution recently. Many of you will have a CD slot in your dash mounted stereo and this mount aims to make use of it as a device holder.

The cleverly designed mount doesn't interfere with use of the CD drive so you can still play your CD's whilst having sturdy and stable mounting platform.

Handily, the CD Slot Mount uses a ball mount connection so you can attach the provided grip type holder to any of the three attachment points or you can buy extra holders to attach multiple devices if you want.

The mount is the same size as those on Garmin cradles so can accommodate them with ease and an optional suction mount adapter is available to accommodate an existing windscreen type mount that you may have.

It's a simple and clever solution and, at £14.95 including one grip, is excellent value.

I saw them on sale at a show last weekend, pity my CD changer is in the glove box.

Silly question, but presumably you have to take it out of the slot to load the changer? What secures it in the slot?

Oh. I'd assumed if it was a single player, it couldn't be loaded with a CD if the holder was inserted.
I'd not worked out what would happen with a Six Stack Basket.

My Sony 6cd slot is the same size as a single slot,
The critical phrase is "you can play your CDs whilst fitted" but it appears you cannot load or eject them, what happens if somebody pressed eject ?

.

My children used to think it was a great idea to stop the CD coming out of the slot by holding their hand over and blocking the disc it simply senses the jam and returns disc into the player.

CD Player manufacturers generally design their products to withstand errors, such as disc ejecting and hitting against a temporary blockage which triggers the sensor and will not eject your CD

This looks nice - but I have a question:

I have a Garmin Nuvi 2599. How would that mount on the device? It has a curved back, so I don't think it would "stick" directly to anything. So, what holds it in place?

I can't tell from the pictures. Any advice (or pictures) would help

Alan

Hi Alan,

Thank you for enquiring about the new 360° CD Slot Mount.

Here is a photograph of a Garmin 1340 you simply remove the Garmin ball socket from the window mount and it fits straight onto any of the three 360° CD Slot Mount balls.

I hope this helps to explain a little.

My best regards,

Gary
