Looking to buy my first Garmin (after using tomtoms for years).
Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2569, and the 2599 models? Have looks and the specs seem the same?
Is Garmin digital traffic as good as tomtom HD? including coverage on smaller roads? |

I can't comment on Tomtom's traffic info but Garmin's digital info works well with a horizon of your destination and updated every couple of minutes.
Sometimes the location of an incident is a hard to identify precisely ("5 minute delay on fastest route; congestion in 20 miles") when not on a motorway, but as with all such systems, it's only as good as the data which collected.

I've got the 2599 and am very happy with it.
Voice activation is fun even if it does get accidently activated (I've got it set to "Hello Garmin" and I listened to a play in the car where suddenly it said "Hello Graham" which set it off )
Digital traffic works very well for me commuting down the M62/M60/M6/M40 and back again. Tells me of holdups many miles ahead (85+) and is easy to reroute.

Had a play with both these units in Halfords. Nice look at feel - similar to the 3597/3598 Prestige line in terms of the front glass face.
Surprised to see that Foursquare was integrated in both units - shows up in the Where To screen and seemed to give a very comprehensive list of nearby POIs. The MyMaps also stated 2014.40 Foursquare on the description.
Anyone have any experience of using Foursquare on these new Garmin models? _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80
