I wonder if anyone has any experience of changing the battery in the Holux GPSport 260?
The manual has warnings about not being user replaceable which probably means soldered connections but I have not delved inside yet.
I finding that the battery does not last during a long day out, probably around 10 hours life. |

I EMailed the UK distributor of Holux equipment to ask about a battery change. They do not have the ability to change batteries and advised me to contact Holux in Taiwan.
Trying to decide whether to just open it up and do the job myself or get a new GPS tracker (I suspect it will not be from Holux!). |

The battery is now so bad that it is not lasting any time at all.
I opened up the unit and the battery is a flat one with a flying lead that has plug to connect up so I cannot see why Holux cannot offer a replacement service in the UK or spare batteries. I thought the warning about not being replaceable meant that it was soldered in and I know there are dangers involved in soldering batteries though just means taking more care.
Can I ask again if anyone has any experience of changing the battery in these and any knowledge of suppliers?
The battery is
F O - 000509-HOL
PN 69019-20N
3.7v
1050 mAh
3.9 Wh
It looks as if it might be a special one for Holux from the 'HOL' in the type number.
I think I might have to start looking for a new GPS tracker but I certainly will not be buying anything made by Holux or from their UK agent. |

Have you tried googling the battery. I got a new one for my satnav. I found that a larger capacity one would fit inside the case so bought it from China (where they are all made). Worked a treat, just need a fine soldering iron for the wire connections. |
