REVIEW COMMENTS: Bluetooth Mouse Charger Cable

Lately we have been seeing some very ingenious designs and patents appearing. One new product design is one that Semsons in the US are selling.

Now, basically it's a GPS charger cable for well known GPS mice and also Garmin Handheld GPS Receivers. However, if you take a closer look, the accessory plug that plugs into the accessory socket in-car has a built-in Bluetooth module hidden inside it and our good friends over at Semsons' have sent us one to review.

Strange that they make one for the Fortuna GPSSmart, which is bluetooth anyway... makes it a very expensive charging cable!

I think also the BT version is probably obsolete now. It never really was a good GPS (IMO).

Dave the price is up from $54.99 to $74.99 + shipping of $18.00 to uk making it $92.99 or at least thats what they told me. With the posibility of it costing 2 X $18.00 here and back if it just dont do, makes this kit a wee bitty pricy and its tied to a vehicle to boot. Idea

Better buy a new bt gps with a full guarantee from those nice local people at www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk with free p&p

The price has risen on the product, it was nearly half the price on commencing the review, so it has gone up (maybe that was in error on the website).

If you have a GPS Mouse though and are happy with it, then it's a good solution still. Works out to around £35 so it's not bad for what it is. It's also good as a Bluetooth setup and a backup charger cable for your existing GPS Mouse.

If importing you may get caught with customs duties, it depends on how the package is sent.

Hi Dave
If I send you £35 would you get me one cause they are looking £52 from me and if its not right for me it will cost about £15 to send it back via Royal Mail. So it would cost me over £30 just to try it out, not to mention those nice customs people. A new cable is cheaper. If I had a wired gps mouse I dont think I would buy this unit just so I could navigate 30m from my vehicle
BUT Idea

I was wondering about this bt GPS charger cable.
If I had a Garmin (or other gps mouse which has no bt) and I connect it to this bt GPS charger cable then I have a BT GARMIN that is tied to a vehicle power supply, which is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. BUT if I connect this bt GPS charger cable to the DIY battery packs for GPS/PDA as detailed by Peter Bailey on this site, then WOW. I now have a BT Garmin GPS (the thing missing from Garmins). That must be worth 50quid to all those garmin owners. :D
