Ordered a 730T from Halfords on the 8th May.
Order was placed successfully with no problems, and I received both an e-mail and txt message to confirm this.
The next day I received my receipt via email and also a confirmation via txt that it's been dispatched.
The same day I received the dispatch email with tracking code and (as arranged) delivery day/time. Along with another txt to confirm this.
Item arrived on time, and in perfect condition and at a good price.
This just reinforces the good customer service experience I've already had from Halfords after originally enquiring about the 730 instore.
Thumbs Up. _________________ Graeme Bennett

I have had exemplary service from Halfords when contacing them face to face in store. Really helpful, minor problems dealt with and did a private deal involving someone's spare time at home and very good bottle of Scotch for the in store GPS specialist to fix something that was beyond me and the useless TT Help Line |

I have had regular great service at Halfords in Market Harborough Leicestershire.
I bought a TomTom Via 135 for myself earlier this year. I bought it online on the Halfords website and arranged to collect it from the store. Quality of service in-store could not be faulted.
Last week I bought another Via 135 for my daughter (she was constantly borrowing mine!). Everything went perfectly. Paid £109 which included free maps for life and the TT hard shell carrying case worth £29.
I generally like the "click and collect " method of buying - not just Halfords. Online you can easily research best deals and customer reviews. By collecting in store you get the chance to inspect what you are buying and, importantly, supporting local shops. |

Chucking my half-pen'orth in.
Online click-and-collect? Never had a problem.
Having to return an item? Not a problem and staff very helpful
General attitude of staff at every store I've visited? Always friendly and have tried to help
but....
I've received badly wrong information twice from staff.
The latest was after asking about battery life on an in-car camera (admittedly not a GPS tracker but this still applies). I said that I didn't want wires trailing around my screen/fascia and was told it was not an issue as the built-in battery would do the job and the 12V plug/lead was for charging only. Also, that the box contained clipping and fixings. Wrong and wrong again!
Battery (as stated in the enclosed literature) is for back-up only (it lasts 15 mins, tops). No clips or fixings enclosed either. Tried to post a constructive review on their site and it was rejected. I contacted their customer services by email, again trying to be constructive, and nearly two weeks later, still no reply.
Conclusions. Although staff try to be helpful, take care with their advice and if in doubt, check elsewhere before buying. Get the name of the staff member if buying based on their comments. |
