It seems pretty quiet round here, but I'm betting some people get alerts for new posts
I have some map tiles - images only - that are named in a variant of an OS grid format. This format replaces the OS square with a number:
SV = 00,00
SM = 00,01
SJ = 03,03
SD = 03,04
I worked this out because all except the start of the number corresponds to the locations I hover over in Memory-Map.
So a point near Manchester might be 211200,352000
And a point in the Orkney islands might be 342400, 1046400
The tiles are named by defining two corners, like this: 339200,1043200,342400,1046400.png
Can anyone help me at all in getting these tiles into Memory-Map, ideally as a single large map?
I have a utility from Memory-Map called mergetiles.exe but there are no instructions on how to use it. If there were, I may be able to get my tiles into a compatible format. I also have an old version of OziMapMerge which I may be able to use for this.

Hi,
How many tiles have you to merge (under ten, hundreds, thousands)?
It's several years since doing it, but I merged all the OS Streetview tiles which were supplied in 0.5 km squares ! Sadly, all the details appear to have been "lost" from M-M's support forum which is now "disabled".
If you have only a few tiles, then you can manually calibrate them within M-M and use Right-Click (off the edge of the tile) : Merge . Assuming that you have a suitable M-M "Navigator" licence.
If you have many tiles, then each file needs a matching geo-referenced file, whch I think is where MAPC2MAPC comes in. M-M's embedded help file should give some details of the required file extension options. All the files can be put into a single folder, then selected and merged in a single process from the map list.
I've forgotten all the details, but ask again if you are completely stuck.

Yes, you can convert the png’s to tif’s eg using XnView (tools...batch processing).
Assuming you have them, put the tab files in the same folder as the tif’s, and load the folder into MemoryMap by refreshing the map list.
Select all the tif* files in the maplist and click Merge. Recover the qct from the specified folder for converted maps.
Looks like Memory map has taken a back seat to these Android tablets and smart phones, it is very quiet and the post getting older. _________________ all the best
