Updates are released up to 4 times a year. It is possible to buy a lifetime licence to get all future releases until the machine dies or is too small for the size of the map files.

| Adding to that all latest Garmin satnavs have slots for micro sd cards, so are unlikely to ever run out of space for map updates. |
