Do you know what format the files have to be in?
PGPSW can only develop a database if the database format can be reproduced and the unit will accept 3rd party data.
What can you tell us about the unit?
Is there an online manual you can link to? |

Renault R-Link multimedia system will not take third party POIs.
I imagine the MediaNav is no better.
However MP93 can you read the SD card with your computer? If so, what's on it? (r-Link SD card has only two proprietary format files, unreadable). _________________ Dennis

Sorry for reviving this thread, but was this ever sorted out ?
I'm about to buy a Dacia Duster as a runabout and it will come with the same Medianav solution and ideally would like to use my subscription to have alerts on it.
I'm hoping it is possible and easier to preare the maps than for my Citroen C6 with it's RT5 unit. |

Go look at tomtom.com for their discussions forum to see what you can find out. I suspect it will not support third party POIs with proximity warnings and .BMP icons. _________________ Dennis

The Renault Media Nav seems to work in a strange way.
You put a memory stick in the USB in the car and makes a copy to the memory stick. You can then plug that into the PC to do an update but it does not seem to keep a copy on the memory stick even though the instructions suggests it keeps a backup. |

I did an upgrade a couple of days ago and I'm sure the instructions were to kick off another backup once complete and then plug in to the PC (presumably to confirm you're now running the latest version). |

Possibly the case, it is a very convoluted procedure.
A week ago I found the car radio had lost most of its settings and presets, the Sat Nav had also lost its settings and 'Favourites' but I suspect the backup does not store these.
It is a very poor Sat Nav. I was trying to enter a friend's location. It is a minor rural road in Wales so I worked out the Lat / Long and entered that. When I pressed 'OK' it said no roads nearby but found it had changed the Lat / Long to one in Africa. Tried again and did the same.
I had saved the location as a Favourite (equivalent to Waypoint) before I realised it was wrong. There is no way to delete a Favourite, only option to delete them all and start again. |
