new Go 500 only has 2 weeks traffic. NOT LIFETIME

Just bought a brand new GO 500 from Argos yesterday. It was sealed and never been opened. It states that I get free lifetime maps and traffic updates. I have updates the unit on my computer and registered it with a new email address and a new account. When I go to my subscriptions it says my TomTom traffic expires on 12/06/2014 which is about 2 weeks away. how do I get the lifetime traffic updates on my GO 500. Thanks for any help.......

You're just reading it wrong as: free (lifetime maps and traffic updates) which, when you expand from the parentheses gives: free lifetime maps and free traffic updates ;)

Argos are selling to GO 500s (with/without Europe) but each web page includes the following

Yes I will call them tomorrow. It clearly states I get lifetime map updates and lifetime traffic updates. my device says my traffic expires on 12/06/2014 which is 2 weeks. It says nothing about the maps and states my traffic cameras run out on 12/06/2014 too.

I am confused as I though with every new tomtom you get 1 year free live services anyway. can someone correct me on this. I am gutted if I paid £169.99 for this device then need to pay another £47.50 for the LIVE services.

Spoke with tomtom this morning. This is a common problem with these devices. a quick phone call or email to them sorts it out like the other post here my 500 does not have a mic on it but it has a mic on the picture on the box. is the mic really needed. what does it do apart from phone calls if it does.
