Welcome to the PHPSW forums. Please clarify your question Gemma. Are you talking about the CamerAlert app on your phone? Or are you talking about TomTom on your phone? (You have posted in the TomTom area). The initial free download only applies the CamerAlert App as far as I know. |

Hello
I went through the process to download the free cameraalert app for my phone following guidance as best I could. Following the advice I made sure that I chose UK not Europe. TomTom OV2 [UK - Speed Zoned Complete], which it said is one of the most popular, is now downloaded onto my computer but unsure how to get the updated speed camera data onto my phone.
I posted on the TomTom area as the download said TomTom and I thought someone might be able to advise on how to transfer the updated speed camera data onto my phone.
Thanks for responding so quickly |

Gemma
What app are you using on your phone? Do you have the TomTom app or something else? You must download the correct database for the app. Once you confirm which app you are trying to put the cams on, then someone will be able to assist you.
For instance, if you are using the CamerAlert app, the download is done from within the app and there is no need to download anything onto your computer.
Also, what phone do you have? |

Hello
I have a galaxy S2. I downloaded the cameraAlert App. Then went onto my PC with my phone attached to it to do the free download update of speed camera's so I could add this to my phone.
I am starting to gather that I have misread the guidance and down loaded the TomTom OV data by mistake perhaps????
Help!
I presumed it was the free down load as nothing came up asking for payment. |

The cameralert app does it all for you. There's no need to connect to or download anything on your PC at all and it has nothing to do with TomTom's file format.
The Android manual is here.
