I've done what you describe, and the number of cameras tallies, but in the blue box, while processing, some duplicate cameras come up, and I don't understand this or how I can stop it. It's very difficult to actually count the number of cameras in the folder!
And then, when driving, I still get multiple warnings, although I have set my warning times to 10 seconds, the overspeed to 0, unticked the "adjacent cameras" box. The first warnings seem to come about 30 seconds before the camera, and sometimes I get one other, other times several.
Any ideas? |

The duplicate camera facility looks for cameras that are within 0.01 of a mile. This typically only removes one set of cameras from a motorway gantry or a reversible camera to avoid some duplicate warnings.
Other than that try my displayed settings.
If your getting the same number of cameras on both the GPI list and POILoader then I think you are there.
Don't forget that due to the nature of the Garmin you will get some duplicate warnings, especially for me the mobile sites. I'm now only reporting the fixed cameras but this is a personal choice and one you should consider for your style of driving. _________________ DashCam:

You've hit the nail there. Garmin does have some odd ideas with relation to camera POI's _________________ DashCam:

I suspect I'm having a senior moment, but should the sound and audio files be loaded when you unzip the download? I've tried using the wav and mp3 options, and when I unzip the file it shows the bitmap and MP3 / wave sound, but the CSV converter warns me there's no sound / picture.
Options selected are UK speed zone complete and a voice pack with a chime |

That message will appear even if only one match isn't found. As long as you have the matching trio for the cameras you want to use then ignore the warning.
If you want to avoid the warning then get the complete set of .wav and .bmp files.
Which one(s) are you missing ? _________________ DashCam:

Them all
If I extract the files from the zip folder, I see the three file types, but unziping it in the CSV programme shows only the CSV file on the left |

That means you are possibly downloading the wrong file.
You need the consolidated that contains all 3 file types. Then unzip the whole thing and not just the camera files. _________________ DashCam:

This is the one I used:
Garmin POILoader [UK - Speed Zoned Complete | pMobiles: Yes | French: No | Swiss: No ]
(12.023 - 19 Feb 14)
I tried using the unzip PGPSW camera files, image files and audio files after downloading them. Sort of better as I now see some picture bmp files, but there's 4 less bmp files compared to the CSV ones ie GATSO, Mobile, Pmobile and SPECS. |

My suspicion of a senior moment seems to be coming more concrete as I wasn't using the "Unzip a PGPSW database" I was using the camera, image and audio files separately |

Some of us have bespoke voice and picture files so the separate functions were put in to allow keeping them.
I'm using the set without chimes and the larger 24x24 BMP's so I want to keep them. _________________ DashCam:

Heads up -
I'm taking early retirement at the end of September. I will therefore be losing my Visual Studio development environment. No big deal as I've always struggled with it as I don't use it regularly and this is where WalkerX kindly stepped in and improved the program logic in a VS style.
However - I do have VB6 which I'm far more comfortable with, it has a far smaller footprint and I'm currently working on a new version.
It's a long way in and I hope to give it a thorough bashing well before October so I have an alternative.
I know VB6 programs work right up to Win7 32 and 64 bit OS's but beyond I don't know as I've avoided Win 8 like the plague. _________________ DashCam:

First I would like to say thank you for the effort that has gone into making this available for others to use.
My question is I have a Garmin 3598 and I have looked through the file system including the .system folder and I cannot find anything that looks like it might have come from the program, I hasten to add the safety cameras are working on the unit. What should I be looking for?

How did you display the .system folder and contents as I can't see these at all, even if switch to mass storage setting.
Are you on about the PGPSW cameras or Garmins own cameras.
For either they are listed in the POI folder with the PGSPW being around 13-20MB depending on which cameras and voices you use. The Garmin cameras are less than 1mb in size. |
