Safety cameras - announcements

I have just installed the Uk safety camera database, but really need it to warn me verbally when there is a camera coming. Does anyone know of a way of doing this?

I am running pocket PC Vers 4.20.0 on a HP ipaq 2210 with Tom Tom Navigator 3 bluetooth.

Hi flashingtshirtman,

to the forum.

You need a POI detector, which can be set-up to give you advance warning of any user created POI. There are several to choose from, but I would recommend CheckPOInt 2.02, which is free and can be downloaded from this website. You may want to look at GPSAssist as well.

Oh, BTW, could you please update your profile so that we know what country you’re located in? Sometimes your location may have a bearing on the answer you’re given.

Hi

Just had my TomTom upgraded to the latest version, which of the POI warning softwares are suitable for use with this please? I started to install Checkpoint but some of the DLL files are older than those installed so I chickened out!

Any help appreciated.
