I am using my old and trusted PPC with GPS receiver and placed it onto a holder on the front of the dashboard. The satellite pick up varies a little due to the roof acting as a shield at times. It is ok with a windscreen mount but I do not like the big visual obstruction.
The GPS receiver has a MMCX port. I am wondering now whether the port would just need a cable plugged in there to "extend" the existing arial or whether it would require a whole GPS mouse to be plugged in here? |

My PPC with MMCX connector requires a GPS 'mouse' thingy. I'm certain that a 'bit of wire' won't do the trick. |

I never found a need for the external receiver on my old Mio168 which I believe may have had a MMCX port, I have given the Mio away but I still have the plug in GPS receiver someware, if any body wants it and wants to either send stamped Addressed package or pay postage then I will try to find it.
Edit to add: By the way if I remember it was a magnetic thingy. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |
