Hi
Just bought a new garmin nevi 2548 last week to replace my oldish tom-tom 720 go
Could someone help me as i wish to sell the tomtom go 720 but i am not sure if i registered it when i bought it new. I have never updated the maps so still has originals , but before i bought the Garmin Nuvi i purchased a tomtom go start 60 last week but exchanged it for the garmin the next day,and that start 60 is now liked to my tomtom home account, and the 720 is not. Would this mean it will be ok to sell the tom-tom go 720 with out worries about it being registered or is there a way i could find out about registration of this old device, i can't even remember my old email address's or account details I(even if i had one)I would prefer to advertise it for sale as it has not had a lot of use,but would be prepared to BIN it just to make my life easier rather than having comeback issues with a buyer who can'not update latest maps.
any help would be most welcome
thank you

I feel for the poor soul who buys that Start 60 that you registered to your account before returning it. They will likely pop up on a TomTom support forum fuming and cursing at TomTom for their difficulty in registering their new device.

What's the problem?

Anybody wants to register your Start 60 or your GO720 simply plugs it into a computer, downloads Home (or whatever that new thing is) and registers the device to an email address of their own. They will have no difficulty at all, it will register just like a brand new one does.

The device is not LOCKED to any particular email address, it simply links to whatever account it is registered to. I would bet a small amount that one tomtom could be registered to a dozen different users simultaneously - just so long as they are on different computers (and I'd bet a small amount that with a bit of effort I could register one tomtom to several different users on just one computer.

That TomTom discussions thread is just about transferring accounts around, ignore it.

The only thing I'd say is if you had the PGPSW camera database on the 720, you should delete it before passing it on.
