I used at nav last week and on outward trip all was fine but for my return despite turning up volume to full or anywhere between on or off I could not get any sound. Mute is unchecked and I loaded some music onto a card and this also does not work.
Anyone else had this problem or any suggestions ?
Thanks

The fact that both Navigation sounds and Music playback are affected, would make me suspicious that this is a hardware fault. It could be the speaker, or even the headphone jack (since that contains a switch that disconnects the speaker).
Do you get audio from the headphone jack?
There are some audio diagnostics you could try. I can't remember the exact details for invoking them on this model - hold the battery icon - or possibly the 'Time', for about 7 seconds until they appear. If you keep pressing "Next" you should find a page of audio related tests.
To exit the tests, you'll probably have to press the Reset button on the back.

found the problem. After dismantling the unit the connector for the jack plug fell out .Re soldering should do the trick |
