Ive had my original PDA mount which was supplied with a bundle from Holux for about 12 months now, and its getting a bit tired. rattles a bit etc.
I want to fit a better one to mount my HP2210 via the windscreen.
Can anyone recommend a straight forward robust, non rattle unit?? |

If its any help I originally bought a cheap vent mount, which was both impractical and expensive, I eventually bit the bullet and purchased the TOM TOM windscreen mount this has the facility to charge the PDA as well as a power out to a GPS receiver.
Hope above helps. |

You won't get any rattling with the TomTom car kit that's for sure If anything the cradle grips the ipaq too tight (2210) Iv'e managed to make mine less tight with the aid of some wet and dry paper apart from that it's excellent!!

I bought a Brodit mount for the iPAQ2210, the type which feeds power and GPS signal through the mount. The iPAQ then slots snugly into the mount - I figured this was less likely to damage the rather flimsy Com1 contacts on the PDA.
The Brodit mount has standard slots on the back. I clip it onto a vent mount (Handnav universal fitting - fine, but Brodit make much more solid car-specific ones) in my own car. When using the sat nav in any other car (eg hire car on holiday) I slot the Brodit onto the bendy windscreen mount which I originally got with my Holux bundle.

Robin,
I'm looking at getting a Brodit - where did you source it from as dealers seem few and far between?

The mount I have is part of the tomtom car kit and is specifically for the Ipaq 22xx with a jack for a RJ11 wired mouse ( not used if you have BT GPS unless you have the skill to adapt to charge the BT) .. the part no on the box is 6A00.015 and can be ordered direct from tomtom . Pc world part no is 537534@ £49.99 .You may find it cheaper from one of the links on these boards!!

Yes, I bought mine from Handnav. A lot of people had complained about delays, but they are not Handnav's fault, a lot of the mounts are car specific and have to be ordered from the makers - that can take up to 2 weeks. But I telephoned first to make sure the one I wanted was in stock, and received it the following day
