Nuvi 3598 maps

Success at last.

I did a hard reset and then I copied the North America maps from the "Map" folder on the sdcard to a (new) "Map" folder on the internal drive and to my utter amazement I can now access the North America map

and........

When I use "Where To" and then "Address" I am shown a window that first asks for a country.

So I am very happy now.

Thank you - a few weeks a go some of is discovered that the French mainland data did not show up when the North American maps were ticked.

It all seems rather odd and confusing.

With the USA map on the sdcard and map ticked (therefore recognised by the software) the map would not work. Transferring the USA map to the internal memory solved the problem.

It seems that these rype of problems will always arrive when changes to the map, software and hardware are made.

We will always need a forum such as this to resolve our problems.

I have just resolved another problem and this time it was converting pois in ov2 format to nuvi format.

Several of my pois failed to convert satisfactorily.

I tried gpx and the csv formats but neither solved the problem.

I then looked at these problem poi files in MS Word and all seemed OK.

I next looked at them in MS Excel and I was surprised to see that the pois covered many more columns than I had expected.

Going back to Word I found that the description of the individual pois contained an address with sections of the address separated with commas and it was these commas that was causing the problem. Removing the unwanted commas in the pois but leaving the essential ones took some time but now all my pois work correctly on my 3598.
