|
|
Pioneer have developed an integrated navigation and multimedia system that will be offered as an option on a range of VW, Seat and Skoda vehicles from July.
The snappily named Navgate AVIC-F9110BT has a 5.8-inch WVGA touch screen display with 2Gb of flash memory. Mapping is courtesy of TeleAtlas and comes with 3D landmarks, Text-To_Speech Voice Guidance and 1.7 million POIs.
TMC is built-in for traffic bulletins and the the press release also mentions 'Clever features also assure accurate guidance in areas where GPS coverage is compromised' which we can safely surmise means a connection to speed sensors and possibly a gyro as is common on factory-fit systems.
The F9110BT offers integrated multi-media with the ability to play media files from SD card, USB, DVD and CD and full support for MPEG4, DivX, MP3, WAV and AAC formats.
The device also offers iPod and iPhone support and even integrates a Parrot Bluetooth hands-free wireless module. Other features are the ability to add POIs using Google Maps via the SD/USB connections, extract driving style and performance reports although it is not known whether the device offers speed camera support.
It's certainly a well specified device and ticks almost all the boxes. _________________ Darren Griffin |

We don't support Avic. They use a custom filetype which we cannot, as yet, reproduce. _________________ Darren Griffin |

In fact the camera database does work with the F-series
These units run iGo software, I have the .txt version of the speed cam database imported into my AVIC-F9110BT already
Just put the .txt file on an SD card as \poi\speedcam\speedcam.txt and it should be imported when the card is inserted. |

Hi,
I want to put the camera database onto my Pioneer AVIC-F920BT but slightly confused about which text file to save to a SD card
I downloaded the IGO files but have these two text files but not sure what they are ''
Pocketgps_uk_sc
Pocketgps_uk_pmobile
also which one needs to go on the sd card as \poi\speedcam\speedcam.txt |

welcome to the PGPSW forums Nick.
The pmobile file contains the locations of mobile sites that have been reported but have not yet gone through the verification process. The other file is the main cam database which contains all the fixed, redlight etc. and verified mobile sites.
You should load at least the Pocketgps_uk_sc file and decide whether to load the pmobile file or not. (put both files on the SD card)
Cons for loading. Quite a lot more alerts for mobile sites.
Pros for loading. You won't get caught by an unverified mobile.
It's up to you, but FWIW, I have the pmobiles loaded. |

M8TJT. Thanks for the welcome & the info on the file differences.
I think that I should load both files as I agree that it would not be good to get caught out at a new site.
Can you tell me what file names I should use for the sd card? |

Don't know. It possibly doesn't matter. But the folder path will matter I suspect. I haven't got your car/device and am only speaking from knowledge of the PGPSW database and iGO |

I have an AVIC-F160-2 which is on an SD card. I insert this SD card into the Hide Away Navigation device which is connected to my Multimedia Recever. I would have to add this path to the already existing files.I did try some time ago to just add it to the existing path as MobileNavigator/content/speedcam.In this file are 4 files
_Need_Help
info
SpeedcamUpdates.spud 0kb
UnitedKingdom_PocketGPSWorld PKC#7 Certificates 209kb.
This did not work as no warnings were given. So,where should I copy the updated SpeedCameras to which file from the WebSite? |
