|
|
I have the smartlink app installed on my Nexus 4 and it shows the available services to purchase are
3D Live Traffic
Advanced Weather
Dynamic Parking
Safety Cameras
Yet on my 3598 when connected I get the following
Weather
Tracker
Fuel Prices
photoLive
If you choose Fuel Prices or photoLive it tells you to check the services in the smartlink app
Are these features not yet available? |

I spotted that but never posted. I assume it's a country specific thing ? _________________ DashCam:

On my 2598 I have most of them but can't find a way to get a petrol price or live traffic camera subscription .

Petrol, no, but live traffic should be no problem. _________________ DashCam:

Photolive was withdrawn for the UK as half the cameras stopped working and there seems to be no resolution for it Obviously if you already have it, the remaining cameras that are networked through to Garmin will still work. But they won't let you buy a new subscription if you didn't have it already. |

I agree with you. I was interested in this feature and disappointed it was withdrawn. The cameras are a feed from the Highways Agency. A 3rd party company was responsible for the link of those cameras to Garmin's own software and something has gone wrong (agreement, technical, not sure) between this 3rd party and the Highways Agency. |

How does the Smart Live traffic service work do you need to still have the ariel plugged in?
Or does it download the info using your phones data?
also is the price a one off payment i.e. for life |

Yes it's a one off Google Play payment.
Never thought of running both. I suppose you would only do that if the lead is not picking up transmissions _________________ DashCam:

Ok thanks
was just not sure if you got better Traffic info if you used both at the same time
The traffic lead seems to pickup the traffic very well and I have it hidden behind the dashboard |

yeh, they all one off payments from what i can see - don't bother with the cameras though as not that good - all the subs from the smartlink app over-ride what's on the device (ie cameras, traffic, weather and possibly parking) |

Are the Smartlink services tied to a phone?.
Reason I ask is I paid for the traffic services on the iPhone and it seems to be tied to my phone. The wife has the App too but traffic doesn't work on hers even though it has the same account details.
When I swap my phone do I have to pay again? If so thats pretty poor as it doesn't give you lifetime traffic does it!. |

It seems to be linked to a google account as I wiped my phone over the weekend and had no problems reinstalling Smartlink and getting traffic etc. |
