Thanks M8TJT, perhaps I'll look at that again tomorrow when I may be in a better position to work through the jargon.

The DSRs are simply silent on that point, they don't give a time limit and nor do they say that the time is unlimited. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2000/2334/contents/made

OK, with devils advocate mode engaged....

I buy a product on line, within 7 working days of receipt I contact the seller to say that I am returning the product, no reason necessary and then I can return it 10 years later once it becomes obsolete.

It's a win -win. Just like the man who stayed a year in the airport, eating for free.

Although the DSRs do give the consumer buyer a right to a prompt refund (30 days) after rejecting a purchase he may find it difficult to enforce that right while refusing to return the item. The seller may also have the right to offset any refund on account of his expense in recovering his property.

I believe this has strayed too far from GPS and is now becoming off-topic here.
