Has ANYONE got the definitive solution to this?
There are lots of 'try this, try that' discussions, on t'internet, but there must be a correct solution.
I'm using OSX 10.9 Mavericks and the Via 1535TM was a bargain $120 from Canadian Tire to replace my elderly 920... |

I found something else that may relate. Posted by a staff person from TomTom on the discussions forum there:
Quote: | Hi all,
It seems that there's a workaround for this issue:
Exit MyDrive Connect
• Go to the System preferences and select network
• Connect the device
• A pop up stating a new interface has been added should appear: press OK
• Click Apply (bottom right). An interface with the name TomTom or TomTom (device name) and green icon to indicate that the device is connected should show on the left.
• Start MyDrive Connect again: it will show the device as being connected (orange dot and Self-assigned IP address is OK!!!)
In some cases the pop up will not appear. In this case:
• System preferences -- Network
• Click Apply
• Click the "+" (bottom left)
• Under Interfaces choose TomTom -- Create
Some customer also reported the network interface is created, but no IP address is assigned and the dot stays red.
• Click on TomTOm on the left
• Select Manually in Configure IPv4 and enter:
- IP Address: 169.254.255.2
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.252
• Click Apply |

Thanks for the tips.
However, in typical USB-device fashion, it *just* started working all on its own when I plugged it in this evening after work.
It must have wanted a trip out first.... |
