I'm giving my TT Live IQ Routes to a poor relation.
Is it possible for me to de-register this device, so that I stop getting the weekly reminders that my LIVE subscription has expired?
Will the device automatically install Home on my relative's PC?
Can my relative register the device against their own email address?
The TT is four years old, so I'm trying a Garmin. |

If you are using the PocketGPSWorld camera database, please delete it before you pass it on.
Get your relative's email address and go onto the TomTom website and change the email address for the device - it will not be necessary for the relative to disclose the password to you, you can give it one and then he/she can change it. That will dump all your Live reminders on him/her.
Alternatively (and far better), change your device's email address on TT website to something fictitious so that the reminders disappear into the ether, then simply give the device to the relative and let them start a brand new registration with their email address - it'll work easy-peasy, simply just as if the relative had just bought a brand new one. _________________ Dennis

I've used the TT option "delete my account". Though when you get down too the compulsory field "category", that's not one of the options!
I've had an auto-reply , someone will be in touch. |

Another solution is to register the TomTom with a Gmail email account that includes the device's serial number. When you hand over the device just hand over the Gmail details as well. _________________ Robert.

Not as far as I know, but it might give him/her a link where to find it.
If not, you get it from http://www.tomtom.com/services/service.php?id=16&tab=87 _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I had a reply from TT; I had to reply agreeing to five points, such as understanding that my account couldn't be re-opened - for security reasons. When I replied I asked about HOME, and I've just received this reply :
Quote: | Thank you for the confirmation.
Yes, you can re-register the device with another email address and HOME will load automatically.
I have escalated your case to Supervisor to delete account: ............ |
