upgraded from my 710 to a new go400

upgraded from my 710 to a new go400,its got free speed cameras , but too be honest its not very good after a run today seems to be only fixed cameras it shows, so was hoping to get another sub here but seems not supported yet , or have i read it wrong ?

ok thanks , but im asking the question here , not to tom tom.
maybe the reply should have been it will depend if tomtom accept 3rd party poi,s, not wrong question ask them.
came here to spend money get a answer/help ,not to be re directed to tom tom ,who will not help me at all when i ask if a pockectgps file is going to work on their product.

As a direct answer to your question that you asked here in your second post. Unless TT allow the import of third party POIs, NO.

I think what Dennis is trying to tell you with a bit of irony and sarcasm thrown in (towards TT, not you), is that The TT that you have bought does not support third party POIs. Because you can't import any POIs from anywhere other than TT, it is not possible for this site to produce a file that can be imported into your TT until they change the firmware to allow this. Dennis N was inferring that if enough people complain to TT about the lack of third party POI use, they just might (however unlikely this may seem) take some notice and change the firmware so that you can use third party POIs.

There are several other threads too, which seem to indicate quite clearly that we can't answer your question, only TomTom can. The list of various pgpsw files is a long one and demonstrates that pgpsw has an interest in producing a version of the database for any and all devices for which there is enough demand. TomTom devices are a major part of the PND market, so pgpsw produces files for them. It's simply a case of TomTom providing access for third party POIs and only they can do that. For the life of me I have not yet seen any indication that anybody on this site can tell you whether or not they will do so at some time in the future.

The 'bit of irony and sarcasm' identified by M8TJT (and correctly judged as towards TT, not you) is due to my having been a TomTom user for over 8 years, during which time I've seen their devices "progress" from brilliant to next to useless.

sorry dennis wasnt really having a go at you just pointing out the reply was not very good and didnt really help me at all , youre second reply did.

i seen it wasn't compatible did do a quick search but didn't find anything that helped get my answer i just assumed it was because it was new .

The 1000 series didn't have 3rd party POI support either when they first came out. Can't remember the timescale, but they did turn up eventually. So there is at least some hope of a fix.

I believe TomTom have intimated that support for 3rd Party POIs will be coming in a future update. But there is no time scale on when this will be.

Very disappointing that they saw fit to release a new device without such support, especially after the furore that resulted when they did the same with the 1000-series.

But then TomTom seem hell bent on eschewing all the openness they used to be lauded for.
