Could someone tell me if the POIs (AT) pocketgpsworld.com email address is being monitored currently? I've sent a couple of requests regarding sub-categories for the new TSB Bank and ATMs in the last month and not had any acknowledgement/reply.
I now have a list of all the POI IDs for the branches & ATMs which have been rebranded. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

So can someone please address the questions I raised in my e-mail of 11th September?
Can new POI sub-categories be created for TSB (Bank) and TSB ATM? If so, when? I supplied possible icons for both of these sub-categories.
Is the file of ex-Cheltenham & Gloucester branches which have been re-branded as TSB that I supplied going to get loaded?
How do you want the remaining (ex-Lloyds) branches treated? Once the sub-categories are created, I could either amend them all individually on-line, or I can provide a list of existing POI IDs which could potentially be changed en masse. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

If it's any help, there is only one person who deals with these changes, and if he's ill or on holiday, there may be a delay in getting them dealt with. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

So who does deal with the e-mail procedure, and why does it seem to have fallen down a black hole, still no response, almost 6 weeks and several prompts later?
Can anyone answer my questions? _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Perhaps if I ask my question a different way, I might get a response.
Can someone please create new POI sub-categories for the following ...
TSB (in category Bank)
TSB ATM (in category ATM). _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Cheers MaFt.
I'll now start to change the existing Lloyds branches manually (and create more work for Oldboy ) unless/until you tell me that you can automate this using a list of POI IDs. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

if you have the current ID that needs changing then add this to the comma separated contents - you could also add some comments, the cat and subcat as confirmation. i.e.
longitude, latitude, title, cat, subcat, id, action, comments
52.12345, 1.5432, Bradford John Street, banks, tsb, 53345, change, lloyds bank now tsb
I can now automate a list of these into a load of individual submissions that we can work through as normal. The above example basically tells us the following:
lloyds bank POI ID 53345, located at (52.12345, 1.5432) is now a tsb bank
Hope that makes sense? FOr 'action' you could use 'new', 'remove', 'change'
If you want to send the file(s) direct to me via MaFt AT pocketgpsworld.com then that will be easier for now until we sort out the POIs AT address.

Well, so far I've manage just over half of the 500 plus, of the recent submissions (both manual and en-masse varieties), plus nearly as many again of associated groups and overlapping 'icons'.
That's with one day off and one full day without power.
Can 'we' ease off a tad, please, as I'm about 4/5 days behind and beginning to suffer RSI. _________________ Richard

Apologies, Oldboy. I wasn't expecting them to be processed immediately once I realised you were doing them manually - I was just trying to get them into the process while I had some free time this week (which I'm unlikely to have as much of next week!).
The good news is that I've only got just over 200 left to submit now (and these are likely to be in more rural areas where there is less density & overlapping icons).
I must admit that when I started this process, I wasn't expecting to be so manually intensive - I assumed that there would be an easy way of simply converting a group of identified POIs from one sub-category to another. Still, at least this way we are getting more of a Rolls-Royce solution with additional accuracy and data-tidying being applied at the same time.
Many thanks for all you are doing! _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

I didn't mean to appear critical, but there are several other users filling gaps, and some of those require more work.
I try to keep on top of the submissions so that:
a. I get 'job' satisfaction
b. We get an accurate, as far as is possible, POI database
c. I don't get users complaining that their submission is taking a long time.
At least, with the TSB group, I have very little text editing to do. Some of the verifying, and placing, was a bit tricky at times.
But I can say that over 95% of those I've done, are placed within a couple of metres of their true location. _________________ Richard

A few meters? You think that's good enough? That could be someone else's house or shop that you're sending people to!
Sheesh!
