It certainly doesn't hurt to first try with an older version (say 2.24) If that works then you may be adventurous and also try with 3.03
Note that you will need a different compilation, though, because the Jornada hasa different processor type.
Also, make sure to put as much of your programs as possible onto storage card - you need as much free RAM as possible to run TomTom on that old machine. _________________ Lutz

You cannot upgrade the OS. But Tom Tom 2 runs OK in it and I think Tom Tom 2 is quite adequate for navigation use. _________________ Pc-Mobile

Having said that, is 540 32MB or 16MB?
I know 548 is 32MB.
32MB is OK, 16MB probably not. _________________ Pc-Mobile

Make sure you try the right executable. The Jornada (NOT Jordana) doesn't have an ARM processor - it's either MIPS or SH3 _________________ Lutz

Is yours CE2.0 or 3.0? May be 540 is 2.0?
I had intalled on Jornada 548 which was 3.0 without any problem.
Tom Tom 2 should run on 3.0. I do not think the processor makes any difference and Tom Tom just install itself.
If it is CE2.0 then you cannot run it. _________________ Pc-Mobile
