AGPS with server name and BTS

Hi,
As AGPS helps GPS module to locate position. For AGPS working, server name is required to get information about location.

Question:
why does AGPS require server name? As it is using BTS (Base Transceiver Station) (A.K.A base-station) for calculating position. Then what is the role of BTS and server name during configuration of AGPS?

Can someone through light on this doubt?

The AGPS data is held on various servers, so the device needs to know which server to connect to when it tries to get the data. Just like your computer 'knows' which server to go to when you try to access the PGPSW site. Just like your computer when it syncs the time, it knows which server to go to because you (or the OS etc. has told it). The AGPS data comes from ground bases stations to assist the device getting a GPS fix quicker from the satellites.
Have you Googled AGPS. Ther's is loads of stuff about it and how it works.

AGPS only works with GPS location. The 'GPS' bit of the 'AGPS' name is a bit of a clue here.

I searched on internet. I am able to only understand AGPS helps GPS module to fix location as it is given assisted GPS (AGPS) by reducing the TTFF (as you mentioned in last post)

But AGPS server contains lot of data, then how can AGPS module come to know that where am i at particular position? I means how does AGPS server get reference to calculate position?

It doesn't know where you are but it knows where the sats are. There are not many satellites. 24 in the GPS cloud and a similar number in GONLAS etc. so there is not a horrendous amount of data.
