Hi! We see you’re using an ad-blocker. We’re fine with that and won’t stop you visiting the site.
But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

While we are very grateful for the input of new, and amended, locations, it would be extremely helpful if all submitters could follow the guidelines in the First Post of this Sticky.
One of the most important is:
Quote:
4. The contents of the Comments box.
Please use the Comments box as it is very reassuring to see "repositioned using local knowledge" when the Action selected is "Confirm existing POI" but the co-ordinates are different to those of the original. It really does help the reviewer if you state in the Comments box what you are changing when submitting a "Change existing POI" request.
For instance you may be just updating a phone number so please say so.
If you don't give any information about what you are trying to achieve, it is very difficult to second guess.
If there is nothing to go on, don't be surprised if your efforts are passed over. Not because we want to, but we need to be sure we know what you are trying to do.
Please read the whole of the OP as there are a lot of submissions that don't confirm in some way, and having to correct so many makes the task so much greater at this end. _________________ Richard

This is just to repeat the above post. The bulk of the submissions are still not using the Comments Box, and it's not making life easy.
Even when a Removal has been selected, it would be helpful if a simple "now closed" is add.
For those who do, thank you very much.

To the DataBasers,
Q) When submitting a POI to PgpsW is the specific web page of that POI of any use to you? and If so, which is the correct field on the submissions page to place it in?
I ask because so many SatNavs/phones are equipped with internet functions, a web page, specific for that POI (not just a generic web page such as www.tescos.com) can provide a wealth of addition information such as opening hours, admission charges, access, parking, etc. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

I have made an ov2 set of the teams that play in the Southern League Premier division.
Is it possible to upload them as a complete group? _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2460LT

From the very bottom of the submission page ...
Quote:
Submit a POI file
Email any new POI files to POIs@pocketgpsworld.com suggesting names for the Category and Subcategory to be used. Remember that all submitted files must be free of any copyright restrictions. Text files in the following format are preferred
longitude,latitude,"Title","Details"
where both the longitude and latitude values are in decimal degrees. For example:
-0.78707,51.23793,"Heath End","97 Farnborough Road, Farnham, Surrey GU9 9AL 01252 123456"

Although conversion from one file-type to another is easy for some of us, it might stop some people from offering what may be very useful POI sets that they have made?
Wouldn't it be "friendlier" to just accept submissions in any of the main formats and for PGPSW to do the conversion? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)
