Can't believe this has not been covered somewhere but I can't find it so apologies in advance .
When I download the CamerAlert db no options are offered about French & Swiss cameras as they are for the POI db so how do I exclude them? Does the CamerAlert download reference my POI choices? I cannot find anything in CamerAlert settings that enables me to control this. _________________ Nexus 7 (2013) & Nexus 4/Sygic/CamerAlert

There is not an option to exclude the French and swiss cams in the app db download. It's all or nothing. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

If you don't want to use them in France / Switzerland then simply turn off the app in those countries.

Either as MaFt says, or to save time and touches , do not turn CA on in said countries. _________________ When Nothing is Certain, Anything is Possible. |

What I did last year was to run a full screen speedo app in the background, ready to double tap and switch to it if/when necessary. It never proved necessary. _________________ Dennis

What about some sort of alternative mapping, like Skobblers Navigation2, based on OpenStreetMap, works online or you can download the maps to work offline, maps are good but the alerts not so good, actually rubbish. CameraAlert is brilliant but get into a bad data reception area and maps resolve very slow for the ones that still look at the map when the alert is activated. Tell me to shutup if I'm being a numpty, will not be offended! _________________ Our excellent online a plus training training programs comptia network+ |

No, you're not a numpty, but why don't you run CA behind a nav program that has on board maps. That will give you nav capability, permanent maps and also save you data costs. |

When in the Maps app, connect to WiFi (my choice).
Press Menu button and choose Your Places.
At the bottom of the menu select View all and Manage, then Save a New Offline Map.
Choose your area, drag map as desired (zoom In and Out), then Save. There is a limit to the size of the map to download. _________________ Richard
