I think that is summed up as "thanks for testing our new software, here are some fixes". Hopefully the next update will add back some of the missing functions that we all want. Might be a long wait though.

Yes, it was announced in TomTom's Discussion forum by Ditte, a TomTom employee.

1st post edited to at least turn it into a quote.

(When I first saw it, I thought it was some sort of spam post with someone announcing their own new software for something!)

I did not paste the link to Tom Tom's site where this was announced yesterday.

I will ensure that I paste any links in any future post to avoid any concern about the post being spam. I wish to apologise to the forum and directly to you 2 guys for any issues you have been caused.

Thank you to David for confirming/updating the forum with confirmation of where the post came from Smile that was very kind of you.

Regards

Lee

I dont think TT will be adding many new/old features back to the software. It seem its going to be a get me from A to B unit, period. If sales are falling I don't understand why TT are not listening to their customer base.

The camera database is not as good as the one supplied by this site -why do TT not offer this database instead?

My main concern at the moment is the Live traffic info I am finding that I am entering heavy traffic with very little warning.

Yes this is strange one because Ive hit a road thats displaying orange or red a couple of time (even before I purchased the GO500 unit) and yet the traffic is moving without issue - I guess the best thing to do is to contact TT and inform them -trouble is they reply generally saying you should reset you unit etc... Well, I travelled down the M6 and up again Sat/Sun and the traffic on the map pretty much matched the road, which was terrible. This is entirely the reason I pay for it, and it saved two hours sitting on the motorway on the way home. We then passed a fresh prang on the southbound carriageway later, and the map traffic extended around a corner that hadn't yet slowed down (some miles back) and I thought that any TomTom owner might be wondering if this really was there, but they'd get assurance around the corner. Sad

The only issue I had was the 740 kept losing the traffic bar, which as you approach a major incident and are about to divert is not very helpful. I must have turned it off at least 6 times over the weekend to get the data back quicker.
