|
|
Hi,
Not sure if anyone else is seeing this, however the "Find a location" button on the Submit Your POIs is not working.
For me it doesn't matter if I enter a postcode or city or streetname, when I press the "Find a location" button, it simply says "Searching ..." and no response is received.
I have tried the same thing in Explorer 9, Chrome & Firefox ... same problem occurs.
It's still possible to submit POI's if you move the map and zoom in manually, but not really very practicle.

It's a known problem, but I don't know whether there's been any progress on fixing it.
A workaround is to enable the add-in LatLng Marker to Google Maps (found under Maps Labs), find your location in Google, copy the co-ordinate from the LatLng Marker, then use these to search the POI submission map. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

No, there's hasn't been any progress on this yet unfortunately. I've recently moved house and spending most of my time keeping the camera database up to date and then sorting house stuff out. None-camera stuff has taken a side line for now.

I've always enjoyed adding to the POI database but having to do the work around every time makes it a much slower process now.
Just wondered if there was an update for this problem?
Thanks |

I find it easier to just keep "double clicking" on the Google Map which appears in the POI submission page. If you keep double clicking in the general area of the POI, the map zooms in to the area and eventually the "Place Poi" icon appears. The more you zoom in, the greater the accuracy. When you are happy with the location, complete the data fields and submit. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

This will be fixed in the next month or so when I update the POI submission map to use the v3 Google Maps code.
