Complaining about finding free downloads on your first visit is not going to get you many helpers or friends. _________________ Drivelux |

wouldn't be free if I make a donation but based on what I've tried to find without success doesn't inspire me to make one |

The free POI download section is being rewritten at present but isn't too hard to use as it is. No donation is needed to use it.
Going from the top of the page, choose the countries you want and hit refresh as requested. Then go down the lists and see what looks like it may be useful.
In France, I can see 139 listing for Caravan club under Association and 12 Motorway service areas under Transport. They appear to be the closest we have at present.
As this is a community sourced list, it has the places that users have told us about. If you personally know of other places (but not from a copyrighted source - basically any publication or website), please feel free to submit them to help other users like yourself.

I find posts made without any capital letters or punctuation to be very frustrating and not well laid out at all....
If the above solution doesn't suit your needs, have you tried Googling for that specific POI set elsewhere?
EDIT: It's always possible that Aires have claimed copyright on their list of locations, it wouldn't be the first time that's happened. An example I can think of was CAMERA real ale pubs... IIRC they wanted to sell their own POI list, so did not allow PGPSW to use it.
Have you seen http://www.airetoday.co.uk/satnav.html? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

Tomtom already have these in their own POI lists. They are called Rest Areas and show all the service station type ones as well as teh ones with just a toilet and benches. |
