|
|
I have just got a Axim X30 with tomtom 3 and wanted to install the digitools UK postcode, I have followed the instuctions, downloaded the zip files, I have the activesync working, checkpoint is installed, have created the folder ukpostcode on the storage card.
This is where I get stuck I cannot seem to be able to save the ukpostcode.exe and the ukpostcode.dat to the ukpostcode folder on the storage card, I have tried copy and paste, and draging them from one window to the other.
Any help would be appreciated as this is all new to me.

i think you have to create a shortcut and copy that to the file, making sure that they are all in the SAME folder.
If you go to the digitools site there is a detailed explanation of the full installation procedure |

No luck using windows explorer, strange thing is that I can save Exel and Word docs to the ukpostcode folder on the storage card, but not the ukpostcode.exe and the ukpostcode.dat files and I do have plenty of room on the card as it is a 256MB |

What error message are you getting? Does it fail straight away or does it take a while then bomb out? |

No error message at all it just will not transfer the files, if I drag from one window to the other as I enter the recieving window I get a sort of no entry sign and cannot drop the files where I want to. |

Try just copying the exe file. Right-click on the file from your PC and do Copy, then form within ActiveSync click on Explore.
Then got My Pocket PC, Storage Card and then right-click and Paste it there. |

Oh and make sure your SD card isn't locked for Writing. If its a Sandisk these can be very temperamental. You might need to fiddle with the switch. |

Have tried several variations of this but none work.

I had exactly the same problem.
Solved by copying the two files from the download folder straight to the desktop on the PC, and from there copying again to PPC.
No idea why it worked, but it did. |

Tried but it did not work, for some reason these files will not transfer to the pocket pc in any folders, but I can transfer exel and word files.

Just found the extract files button on the folder tasks on the left side of the window on the pc now it works, I did not unzip it properly, only took me three days to notice this.
