There is a link on TT Forums to the GO 6000 being offered on Amazon for £299.99 with an availability date of 1st June 2013.

Indeed, http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CL9UMKG and sold by Amazon so not just some dodgy person putting up the link.

Cosmetic? It's not like TomTom to bring back features they've dropped, like audible audio. Evil or Very Mad

The way TomTom improvements have been going - you also need to ask what your 1005 does that the new ones don't - sounds like Thirdparty POIs seem missing

This page for the new TomTom Go 6000 on Amazon has now changed so that you sign up when it becomes available. Seems they made a mistake posting it at all yet!

Ok, since I posted that a minute or two ago, it's changed again to be available from August 1st!

It also says it connects via a smartphone; I thought x000s had the built-in sim?

The 'always connected' DO have sim cards (such as the 6000).

The 400, 500 and 600 need tethering via a mobile phone.

So we're not quite sure what Amazon are selling?

They've now changed it to the Always Connected one rather than the Connected via SmartPhone.. It seems to be correct now - The 000 series are always connected with SIMs in and 00 series are connected via SmartPhones I think

I assume a few around here have got some new models for testing? But they can't possibly say they have.
