Not that I want to go to Disney, but you'd surely expect TT Places to have this?

TT Local managed "No results" either for "The Henry Moore Foundation" OR "Perry Green" (the village it is in) when I tried to visit there last weekend.
When we had Google Local Search, it could find it straight away.
-------------
Here are some other comparisons I tried earlier (Google on the left, TT Local Search on the right)....
"Swimming pool":
Google: Found 14 within 4 miles
TT Local: Found NONE within 4 miles
----------------
"Co-Op"
Google: Found 9 within 3 miles
TT Local: Found 4 within 3 miles (and missed the one at the top of my road )
---------------
"Ballet" (looking for my daughter's ballet classes)
Google: Found all the ones we knew about
TT Local: Pathetic!
---------------
"Maplin" (Maplin Electronics)
Google: Found 5 within 4 miles
TT Local: Found 1 (and how are we supposed to know where they all are? NO ADDRESSES!! )
---------------
"Wildfowl Trust" (Deliberately vague - they are actually called "The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust" but I wanted to see how they coped)
Google: Found what I was looking for (but repeated it)
TT Local: 'Nuff said!!! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I read on TT Discussions website somebody saying "It will improve over time". Well, it's had time since they dropped Google Search and I see no improvement. But TT still allow us to pay for Live Services.
When I first subscribed to Live Services (at £80 a year), I decided to do so mostly on the basis of Search - I wasn't convinced at the time by HD Traffic and the other stuff was rubbish.
So now the Search is rubbish and the HD Traffic has been throttled back. And I don't know how I did it, but my Live Services are valid until August 2014 - the GO550 doesn't look like it'll last that long anyway - nearly two years old and it's starting to reboot regularly like its predecessor! _________________ Dennis

Not having Google is a real bummer; I can no longer find specific bus stops since Google was disabled. Navigating on foot to a bus stop in the far reaches of the UK is essential in my job, so I'm not happy. Also looked in Local Search for a taxi in Swindon, Witshire, the nearest listed was in Cirencester! Next to useless unless you want the obvious things like Tesco, Sainsburys etc. |

Those examples are interesting where they do match, in that the distances are quite different. I wonder if that is due to one doing basic routing (but that would be very slow to show), or something else.
FWIW, I did a TomTom search for Beamish last night, and it knew it. Hurrah. |

When I looked into it in detail a couple of years ago, a lot of theinfo SEEMED to be harvested from the lesser known search directories on the web... down to having the same errors and spelling mistakes! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
