|
|
Hello,
I've only just signed up to pocket GPS and downloaded the CamerAlert App. I went into Manage Cameras and tried to download the free one time database, however it appears to have timed out and now just says I am not subscribed for downloads. The database versions and size is reading:
Server:11.042 (35326)
Device: 7.000 (26806)
Which I *think* must mean I am still on the outdated database version?
How can I now download the free database to try out the app before subscribing?
Many thanks for your help, look forward to hopefully trying out CamerAlert and the speed camera database shortly.

Hopefully one of the Admin team will be along shortly to get you sorted out.
But in general, I'm currently finding the site a lot slower than usual and there were some server problems a couple of days ago, so there may be some issues still ongoing. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the reply. I submitted a ticket via the App to the CamerAlert Support Team, who have reset the free download link so hopefully I can redownload.... however have just been on and got a :
"A database update is currently in progress, please try again later"
message.
So, will hope this is just a coincidence and will try again later as it suggests!
Will let you know.... |

...All good, download has now worked.
I do agree though, the pocketgpsworld site does seem rather slow over all. Initially it took a good minute or more for it to load from google. I don't know if this was affected by the time of day (around 5.30pm)?
Thanks again, now to try out the App.... |

We've been having a lot of attacks on the server recently... Still messing about with various firewalls and fancy server software etc...

What do they have to gain? Or do they do it just because they can? |

Nothing. Yes.
They prove to themselves how clever they are. Not bright enough to realise they are doing the same as me pulling the plug out of their Internet connection. _________________ Dennis
