It should be the same download link as previous further up the thread. _________________ DashCam:

Ok, so I deleted my .NET4 client profile ready for a clean install.
Then I used the latest download link in this thread that I could find which is from Walkerx and dated 13 Feb 2013.
NOTE that the help file contained in that download has a latest change date of Jan 2013, so if the help file was updated then did someone forget to change THAT date at the end of the help file page?
Anyway, I installed it as administrator BUT I did not get any prompts whilst installing the program regarding .NET4 but when I went to run it, I got an error message asking me to install the Netframework 4.0.30319 and to contact the application manager for instructions on obtaining that.
I was under the impression that the latest version of the Converter would provide a link to install the .NET4????
Am I doing something wrong and can you please confirm that the old links in this thread (all on page one) are being updated to reflect a link to the latest version of the converter and if not, then where is the link to the new version?
thanks for your continued support and help with this.

The latest installer is called "CSV Converter Install.exe" and is dated 18/03/2013.
It is 2,879Kb is size because it doesn't contain .NET4 and it has an updated help file.
I posted the link to upload the software on the same day as it was created.
I'll see if I can find the correct download link. _________________ DashCam:

If you go right back to the first page and download the 'GarminConverter.zip' that is the latest installer.
Once downloaded and unzipped check that the exe file date is the 18th March.
Let me know how you get on. _________________ DashCam:

Ok, happy days!
I removed the .NET4 from my laptop and the existing (old) version of yours/WalkerX's Converter Program.
Then, using the link at the beginning of this thread as you directed, I downloaded the latest version of the program and during installation it did indeed prompt me to download .NET4.
Once I clicked through the prompts/accepted, it took about 4-5 mins to download and install the .NET4, then the installer continued straight onto the actual Converter Program.
I then used the 'top line' menus to designate my working directory and then downloaded the .zip camera database into that directory.
Using the same top line menu, I then unzipped it without any problems and it is all running fine.
Just one suggestion, maybe edit the first post in this thread (if that is possible) to indicate that the link is indeed the latest updated version. I say this because I initially used one of the later posts/links (still on page one) posted by WalkerX BUT those are the older version(s). However, reading those later posts suggests they are updated - the posts are in chronological order and therefore I assumed (wrongly) that the more recent post would contain the latest version of your program.
For the sake of clarity I have included the link to the latest version again here.

Once again both very many thanks to you and WalkerX, for your help and forbearance in this matter and I hope the problems and solutions may help others in the future to overcome their frustration as much as it did mine!
Cheers

Excellent :D
I started it to overcome Garmin's shortcomings and because the only available alternatives didn't match my requirements.
WalkerX then dragged it into the 21st century, added some welcome tweaks and used .NET4 functionality that I was unaware of and had coded 'long hand'.
Once we were happy I updated the help file and used Installshield to reduce the installation footprint.
As you say .NET is quite large (75Mb I think) and does take a while. _________________ DashCam:

Unfortunately yes, I've never owned one.
The source code is in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 VB format. If anyone wants a dabble they are welcome. I'm happy to post out the source code. _________________ DashCam:

Version 2013.02.20.2115 (latest?)
I hit "PGPSW Database Options | Download Database"
followed by
"PGPSW Database Options | Unzip PGPSW Database"
When I selected my previously downloaded ZIP file, I got:
Code: | UnZip Unable to cast COM object of type 'System._ComObject' to
interface type 'Shell32.Shell'. This operation failed because the
Querylnterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID
'{286E6F1B-7113-4355-9562-96B7E9D64C54}' failed due to the following
error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT:
0x80004002 (E.NOINTERFACE)). 13 |
I bet there's a simple explanation for that ... please point me in the right direction!
(This is on Win 7 Ultimate 64bit) |

Hi
Feb 20 is not the latest version. Download the version in the first topic of the thread. From memory this has a March date.
The problem is that the Feb download (from DropBox) doesn't have the correct .NET4 components.
The later version points to Microsoft and prompts you to download the appropriate version for your OS. I would recommend uninstalling any .NET4 components first so the program can't find it and gets the latest correct version.
Also install in Admin mode. _________________ DashCam:

OK - I've found a version that will Unzip the Camera File. Interestingly, it's still version 2013.2.20.2115 - though it's definitely a totally different installation.
FYI - I'd downloaded the following (from their .ZIP files):-
CSVtoGPXSetup.exe [0.0.0.0] which installed
\CSV to GPX Converter\GarminConverter.exe [2013.2.20.2115] (this fails)
and
CSV-Converter-Install.exe [11.3.2012.0] which installed
\Garmin\CSV Converter\GarminConverter.exe [2013.2.20.2115] (this works)
I already had the .NET components installed. |

Just noticed that if you go up a few posts stevie has posted a link to the latest version.
The most noticeable difference is that the latest version uses InstallShield. _________________ DashCam:

If I want to add both UK and Euro cameras, do I need to do this as separate uploads or does your program convert kph to mph like Ash10's program does?.
I don't really understand how this would process kph speeds. My instinct is to do the Euro ones separately and change the POILoader setting to kph and metres, rather than mph and feet as used to install the UK cameras.
Thanks. |

Hi
This one was created and tested for UK MPH only.
However, the theory is the same that the internal speed is just a number and the POILoader might accept these higher figures and work appropriately.
At the end of the day all it does is convert the CSV to a Garmin compatible GPX file. _________________ DashCam:

So after some playing I can confirm that this program works with Euro cameras.all you need to do is download the euro cameras, edit them as you require and save them to a different folder to the UK ones. As some devices have a limit to 32 few per sub folder it is probably better to add the UK and euro cameras separately.
Use POI Loader to add the Euro cameras but make sure that the units are set to km and metres, not feet and miles. Once added, go into the poi folder on the device and rename the euro cameras file. You can then add your UK cameras as usual (don't forget to change POI Loader back to feet and mph). |
