|
|
Hi, I have just installed the speed camera app on my HTC One Sv.
I am already a subscriber of the cameralert database (Garmin). I have been trying for the last hour or so to view the android manual from the camera alert website. I keep getting the message 'Error establishing a database connection'. I would like to register the app and update the camera database on my android phone.
Is there anywhere else that I can view the android manual?
Thanks

It probably links to the same website but there is a shortcut to the CamerAlert manuals above.
Click on the "Speed CAmeras (Download Now) tab at the top of this page and choose the relevant manual from the list of drop downs. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Seems to be a bit temperamental right now. I got the database error then reloaded and it was fine.
I'll see if Mike or Darren can look into it.

And if it plays up then ask your questions here - I'll be around until the early hours of tomorrow anyway....

Many thanks for your assistance; I managed to look at the manual this morning before I left for work. However, something is puzzling me!
Please excuse me if this is a stupid question; where do I locate the menu button and thus access ‘Manage cameras’ to enter the database management screen.
On my HTC One SV when I run the app, firstly I get the flash screen and then I'm met with the map and four buttons on the bottom:
(left to right) tracking, list, zoom buttons and camera.
Where is the menu button located?
Kind Regards

The menu button is your phones menu button, normally at the bottom and sometimes looks like 4 small square within a bigger square or four horizontal bars. pressing this within CamaerAlert brings up six options, one of which is "Manage Cameras". _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

from the (still work in progress) updated CamerAlert manual:
"Press the ‘Menu’ button on your device (either the hardware button or press and hold the ‘recent programs’ hardware button and then tap the onscreen ‘Menu’ button)"

Many thanks to all who have assisted me (and for your patience).
To further compound my problem my HTC One appears to be missing the 'menu' button. After consulting the HTC phone manual I found a section titled 'Can't find the menu button'.
After then setting the Recent apps button to open the Menu - voilà!
I have now downloaded the most recent camera database.
Once again, many thanks for your tolerance . |
