Is it possible to tweak the community content interface so that wrt POIs you can see a date last updated against each file and perhaps do multi-file deletes rather than one at a time? I would like to have some visual assurance that when I load the latest camera db update on to my TomTom device, it has actually worked. At present, afaik, the only time you can see a successful upload is when you do it the first time or after a long and laborious delete of each of the existing files individually!
With the older TomTom where you could access the device as a drive, it was easy to ensure you had copied updated files onto the device.

I quite agree, the functionality of MyTomTom is really annoyingly basic!
To answer your specific questions:
● Can you multi-delete files?
No. I've been moaning to TomTom about this ever since the early days of MyTT testing. No luck so far.
● As for some "proof" that you have actually updated...
Here are two ways I've used:
1. You could change the names of one or more of the POI filesets to include the date. i.e. Change "pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2" to "pocketgps_uk_gatso_20_Mar17.ov2" (and do the same for the .bmp, .X2.bmp and .ogg files so they all match)
That ended up as too fiddly for my liking, and you have to do it every time.
2. What I do now sometimes (just to convince myself it's working), is delete ONE of the camera POIs (either using MyTomTom or on the TomTom itself) before I do the update.
If it reappears after I've loaded all the new versions, AND MyTomTom has asked if I want to overwrite the existing versions (which it does) then I reckon it's a pretty good bet it's all worked correctly! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Thanks for the reply Andy, it's re-assuring to know that it's not just me. One other way I've thought of by accident is to toggle the warning voices from one week to the next i.e. male/female. |

Yes, that's very clever, just re-download the voice files every week and switch your choice! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
