|
|
I just worked up the courage to go and buy TomTom Android and found they now want £40.99 for the UK version. I only wanted it for occasional use when I am without my XL-1. Never mind I have CoPilot and if I check the route it's not too bad. On the bright side I have saved £30. |

Just as well you waited before not buying it because you've now saved £40.99 _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

What's really annoying is that I now have to decide what to spend it on. |

The application date changed to Feb 5 on Google Play. That is likely when the introductory discount expired and prices increased to their current levels. |

Probably a Fire Sale, 1000-5000 installs hardly compare with Sygics 10,000,000-50,000,000 installs.
Must say for me a disapointing and basic product. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

It's a bit of an unfair comparison given that TT has only been available for a few months whilst Sygic has been around for years, also the competition that Sygic faced on release wasn't exactly huge

Totally agree, I've given up using it until TT come up with direction of travel view & an auto zoom that works properly. I'd love to defect to CoPiot or Sygic, but having tried both their routing just doesn't compare to that of TomTom _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

Accept your point to some extent, but bearing in mind most sales volumes happen in first months of release, so the install figures must be disapointing for TT in view that most people consider it the premier product.
Totally agree with your points on tomtom both are killers for me. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

And disappointed for us to, if the volumes are this low, and TomTom give up on the app, cannot see me going to CoPilot or Sygic (both of which I also own) as like you say, their routing isn't up to much and their interface just not car friendly
Lets hope users see sense _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Sygic is free to try, with an in-app purchase to unlock the trial expiration.
The Sygic count reflects all those who tried it for free but didn't bother to purchase. Tomtom's number only reflects actual buyers.
(In addition to Sygic being available for years, vs Tomtom's availability for only months.) |

A couple of posts from the TomTom Forum which may be of interest:
Thursday 14.02.2013
Some good news.
I have spoken with the Mobile developers and they have confirmed that the "Direction Up 2D View" will be available in the next update of the app.

Unfortunately I don't have an ETA for the next release but i expect that it will be over 4 weeks away. _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

TT UK&ROI and Western EU currently showing to be back at £24.99 & £29.99 respectively on Google Play.
With most other Android apps, you can install on other devices with the same Google login. Is this the case with TT? I was thinking of purchasing now ready for my new phone when it becomes available.

As far as I can work out - yes! I have it on both My Samsung phone AND my Nexus tablet from the one Google account. When I went to download it onto the second unit, it said "Already purchased" or words to that effect and continued to install it. |
